not entirely OT given that these files are created with BBEdit,
but is there any way to persuade Quick Look to read files with
the extension 'tex'? i'm just starting with Leopard and this is
rather annoying! It reads other 'unMac' files (like .bib) as text.

Get Info and set the file type to TEXT, and it should work fine. You'll
probably find that your .bib files are already set that way, because I know
that Quick Look doesn't recognise them by default on my machine.

ah - it wasnt this, actually, it seemed that some of them had
'double extensions' and that seems to have done the trick
(removing them.) thanks.
